Winter Quarter Workshops at the Sustainable Living Center

PICA/Life Lab
School Gardens Workshop
Join us for a 2 day workshop about garden education
and learn great activities that *YOU* can teach!


When: Saturday, January 23 & February 6
This is a 2 day event!
Where: At the PICA and Life Lab gardens
Cost: $20 for the 2 day workshop.
Includes instruction, materials, and lunch.

January 23
Life Lab school gardens day~
learn some of The Growing Classroom’s garden activities for kids,
get tips for how to engage students in an outdoor environment,
and see how to integrate gardening with learning across disciplines.

February 6
Hands-on garden training day with PICA~
Learn about planting, soils, compost, propagation,
seasonal eating, and much more!

Watershed Workshop

Participants will learn about Santa Cruz County watersheds and how to use local water resources for hands-on, standards-based educational activities for grades 4-12.

When: Saturday, February 13 th, 9:30-3:00 (lunch included)
Where: Morning session is at the Sustainable Living Center
Afternoon session is at the Soquel Creek Watershed

Note: Hands-on creekside activities: wear clothing and shoes that can get wet.
