Cob Workshops in May at PICA!

Hello folks,

Do you ever find yourself playing in the earth and having fun in the mud? Do you enjoy creating masterpieces with your hands? Do you want to move toward sustainability and building a stronger community? Well, if you answered yes to any of these questions, there is an incredible chance to do just that while learning about a sustainable building technique: cob. Cob is an ancient material made of clay-filled mud, sand, straw, and saw dust mixed together and has been used to make buildings, walls, benches, and ovens.

You are invited to a cob workshop at the Sustainable Living Center with the Student Environmental Center's Green Building Campaign in collaboration with PICA. If you would like to be part of the building process, there will be four Saturday workshops from 11am - 4pm, on May 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th. Space is limited!

**RSVP to cbwatts@ucsc.edu and show up at PICA's A-Quad in The Village by 11am on Saturday ready to get down and dirty.**

When you RSVP, you may sign up for one of the workshops and indicate if you would like to attend the others. We would like to make these learning opportunities open to as many people as possible, so going to multiple workshops is only permitted if there is available space. A delicious lunch will be provided and shared with the PICA workdays on every Saturday except May 7th, when SEC's Green Building Campaign will provide the food.
