Fermentation Workshop



PICA is offering a Fermentation Workshop on Saturday November 20th from 12-4pm. The workshop is free and will be held in The Village Kitchen.

Space is limited so please RSVP asap to vfaryan@ucsc.edu.

We will be making AND tasting:

Ginger ale,
Sourdough bread,
Kombucha,
Kefir (TBA)
Sodas,
Yogurt
and
Sauerkraut!

Although these are not fermented foods, for those of you interested in learning how to grow sprouts, advice will be given on that as well...! We can sprout mung beans and almonds.

The ingredients and some jars will be provided.

PLEASE BRING GLASS JARS IF YOU HAVE THEM.

The workshop leader, Vanessa, will also be talking about the history of cultures (no she's not an anthropologist), the health claims of fermented foods, and some inspiring stories and youtube videos!
